The year 2021 has been one of opportunities and challenges, mainly due to the coronavirus pandemic. The former Executive Director Ms. Katherine Kanabahita resigned her position on April 30, 2021. The year 2019 was a recovery year for DENIVA after a setback. It is when we started to get support for most of our activities. ANNUAL REPORT 2018 -
In 2018, Uganda was awash with a string of disaster occurrences with the most appalling being the Bududa landslides that claimed over 36 lives leaving hundreds of people homeless. The landslides that has happened twice since 2010 were caused by torrential rains that led to the over flooding of River Suume. During the reporting period, DENIVA has been leading on major going-on affecting civil society in Uganda. With particular regard to the NGO operating environment, DENIVA remained at the forefront in engaging government on the NGO (Amendment) Bill that was assented to by the President in January 2016.
