Yesterday November 20, 2023, DENIVA was privileged being part of the stakeholders on the #AnimalFeedsBill at Parliament of Uganda. DENIVA presented key observations & recommendations to the #AnimalFeedsBill Parliamentary committee chaired by Hon. Jane Grace. A Okori-Moe Women MP Abim District.
Key issues observed include;
a. lack of recognition of different levels of engagement by different animal feed businesses.
b. unclear explanation on the clause of alteration of premises.
c. the bill does not clearly set out grounds that can be used to refuse licensing or registration under clause 3 and 8.
d. There is no limit to the time when a certificate can be suspended under clause 9, among many other observations made.
